Our main character is reluctant to leave the safety of The Shadow Kings and his wife Emma begins to question her own decision to become a vampire. She is now not only wanting to leave the group but contemplating leaving her husband. All his promises were empty and she realizes she may need to make a drastic move to find a way out.
